KZT - Kazakhstani Tenge currency

The Kazakhstani Tenge (KZT) is the official currency of Kazakhstan, issued by the National Bank of Kazakhstan. It was introduced in 1993, replacing the Soviet Ruble as Kazakhstan transitioned to an independent economy. The tenge is a free-floating currency, though its exchange rate is closely monitored by the government. Kazakhstan’s economy is rich in natural resources, particularly oil, gas, and minerals, which heavily influence the value of the tenge. The currency is subdivided into 100 tiyn, though tiyn coins are rarely used due to inflation. Banknotes are available in denominations from KZT 200 to KZT 20,000, while coins range from KZT 1 to KZT 100.
